Four people were injured in a road accident on the Mombasa–Nairobi highway on Monday evening, police said.
The collision occurred at Kalimbini in Makueni County and involved a long-haul truck and a personal car. Two of the victims sustained serious injuries and were taken to Machakos Level 5 Hospital. The other two were admitted to Sultan Hamud Hospital with less severe injuries.
Mukaa Deputy County Commissioner Buxton Mayabi confirmed the incident and said investigations were under way.
Police have appealed for caution on the busy highway, which links Kenya’s capital to its largest port. “We urge all motorists to observe traffic rules to prevent such accidents,” one officer said.
The Nairobi–Mombasa road remains one of the country’s busiest and deadliest routes. Frequent collisions, often involving passenger vehicles and heavy trucks, have made it a focus of ongoing road safety campaigns.
