Dar es Salaam, Tanzania — A late-night video call between Tanzanian music stars Zuchu and Diamond Platnumz has stirred fresh speculation about their relationship, after Zuchu confronted Diamond about a mysterious woman named Amanda.
The emotional exchange, which Zuchu shared with her 6.5 million Instagram followers, shows her calmly but firmly asking Diamond to explain why a woman named Amanda had repeatedly called his phone during the night.
“I just wanted to ask you about something. Yesterday, while we were asleep, someone kept calling non-stop. You know those people who call over and over even when you decline? Her name is Amanda,” Zuchu says at the start of the video.
Diamond, who appears on the call shirtless and lying in bed, seems caught off guard. He initially deflects, saying, “On your phone? I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
But Zuchu isn’t buying it. As Diamond attempts to act distracted at one point pretending there might be a network issue Zuchu firmly calls him out.
“I know you can hear me. I can see your eyes moving,” she says, her tone now more assertive.
Fans React: “Who is Amanda?”
The video has sparked a flurry of online chatter, with the name “Amanda” quickly trending across Bongo celebrity circles and East African Twitter.
Some fans believe the woman in question might be linked to Diamond’s past, while others see it as a sign of growing cracks between the two stars, whose relationship has long been the subject of rumours.
Zuchu and Diamond have never officially confirmed they are a couple, but public appearances, music collaborations, and emotional exchanges have kept fans guessing for years.
Zuchu’s choice to post the video rather than keep the matter private has drawn mixed reactions. Some viewers applauded her for confronting the situation head-on. Others questioned whether the moment should have been shared at all.
The Bigger Picture
The video, less than two minutes long, offers no real conclusion. Diamond never gives a clear answer about Amanda. But the clip has done enough to ignite a digital storm?
