Kenya Power cautions public over fraudsters impersonating CEO Joseph Siror to solicit bribes and illegal favors from unsuspecting Kenyans. In a public statement issued on Friday, the utility company confirmed that fraudsters have been presenting themselves as KPLC CEO Joseph Siror while making false promises in exchange for money.

“We wish to alert the public and our esteemed customers of fraudulent individuals impersonating our Managing Director and CEO, Dr. (Eng.) Joseph Siror, while soliciting for bribes and other illegal favors,” the KPLC stated.

Kenya Power made it clear that it maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy on bribery, fraud, and unethical conduct. The company reminded customers to use only official payment platforms when settling electricity bills. “All payments for electricity services should be made through authorized channels mobile money, banks, and Kenya Power banking halls and receipts should be obtained for the same,” the notice emphasized.

The power supplier urged members of the public to stay alert and immediately report any suspicious conduct. The company advised that any cases of impersonation should be directed to the nearest police station or Kenya Power office. “Members of the public are advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or impersonation attempts immediately,” Kenya Power highlighted.

To help the public confirm the identity of legitimate company staff, Kenya Power recommended using the verification code *977#. “Additionally, they should authenticate persons presenting themselves as Kenya Power staff by dialing *977#,” KPLC added.

The company called on all customers to help protect their communities by reporting con artists and preventing further fraud. “Let us work together to safeguard our community from fraudsters. You have been warned. Beware of conmen!” Kenya Power concluded.
