French Montana is engaged to Dubai’s Sheikha Mahra, daughter of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, after a quiet romance spanning Dubai, Morocco, and Paris.
Moroccan-American rapper French Montana is engaged to Sheikha Mahra, the daughter of Dubai’s ruler and United Arab Emirates Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The couple reportedly formalised their relationship in June during Paris Fashion Week, where Montana’s representatives confirmed the engagement to TMZ. The rapper, 40, and the royal, 31, have been linked since 2024, often seen dining in Dubai’s high-end restaurants, travelling through Morocco, and even sharing a quiet stroll on Paris’s famed Pont des Arts bridge.
Mahra is well known in Dubai for her charity work and her love of horses. She studied in London, where she earned a degree in International Relations, after completing her early schooling in Dubai.
Her private life, however, has also made headlines. She was previously married to Sheikh Mana, an Emirati businessman and member of the royal family, with whom she has a daughter. Their marriage ended earlier this year after allegations of infidelity. In July, Mahra announced the split in a blunt Instagram post.
“Dear Husband, as you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, and I Divorce You. Take Care. Your ex-wife,” she wrote to her 1.5 million followers.
Montana, whose real name is Karim Kharbouch, was once married to entrepreneur and designer Nadeen Kharbouch, with whom he shares a teenage son. His past relationships include high-profile figures such as Khloe Kardashian and musicians Iggy Azalea and Rubi Rose.
In a 2016 interview, Montana spoke about the complexity of dating someone navigating a divorce. “It’s real emotional, it’s a sensitive space for them,” he told Elle. “It’s real s–t. But sometimes you have to sacrifice for what you want.”
The engagement, confirmed but yet to be publicly celebrated, has quickly drawn global attention, uniting two very different worlds — hip hop and Middle Eastern royalty — in a story as intriguing as it is unexpected.
