Nairobi, Kenya – Viral couple VJ Patelo and his bride Diana have broken the internet once again – not for their flashy cars or over-the-top outfits this time, but for revealing their real ages and the jaw-dropping amount they allegedly spent on their wedding.
In a sit-down interview with Oga Obinna, the rising Arbantone star revealed he is 26 years old, while his wife, Diana, is 29.
“Mimi niko 26 years, na yeye ako 29,” Patelo declared with a grin, seemingly unfazed by the age gap -but fans were quick to take sides. Some praised the couple’s openness and chemistry, while others raised eyebrows about the dynamic.

But that was only the beginning.
The real bombshell came moments later when Patelo casually claimed their wedding, held just days ago at Naiposha Gardens in Limuru, cost them a staggering Ksh 500 million.
Yes – half a billion shillings.
“The venue, the food, the convoy, the décor, photographers, cars — everything cost around Ksh 500M,” he told Obinna.
“Even the cake was imported from Dubai. Our rings? Mine cost Ksh 500K and hers brought it to Ksh 1.5 million in total.”
The wedding, which had already gone viral thanks to its dramatic convoy of limousines and Escalades, left jaws on the floor — and social media in chaos. Photos from the event showed Patelo dripping in silver chains and rings, rocking an untucked shirt and designer shades as he posed beside his radiant bride.
Some called it the Kenyan wedding of the year. Others called it a clout circus.
“Ghetto Love with Money”
While the opulence was impossible to ignore, the couple’s love story paints a humbler picture.
Diana, Patelo revealed, was raised in Fedha Estate, Embakasi East — not Lavington, as some rumours have claimed. Patelo, on the other hand, described his childhood as scattered across Eastlands, living in areas like Kayole, Dandora, Buruburu, Kiamaiko, and Umoja.
“I can’t say I was raised in one place,” he said. “But we’ve come a long way. Now we live in Utawala, and I’m managing her real estate business.”
The couple met in Kiambu two years ago and have since built both a personal and business relationship. Patelo refers to Diana as not just his wife, but his partner in success.
Still, many online users weren’t buying into the price tag. While some believe the wedding’s reported cost may have been exaggerated for clout or content, others say it’s a smart marketing move — and it’s working.
“Even if it’s not Ksh 500M, they’ve made us talk. That’s smart,” wrote one user on X (formerly Twitter).
“But if it’s real, that’s wild. How are two people under 30 affording this?” added another.
Whether it’s real or a PR stunt, Patelo and Diana are riding the wave — and owning every headline.
Their love may be young and full of bling, but one thing is clear: they know how to capture attention.
