Vera Sidika Flaunts New Range Rover, Says She’s the Only Celebrity with One Bought in Cash

Next Pope

Vera Sidika is back in the spotlight-this time not for her music, a controversial statement, or a business move, but for her car. A brand-new Range Rover Vogue, which she claims is unlike anything any other Kenyan celebrity owns.

In a series of videos posted to her social media this week, Vera showed off the luxury SUV in full. She took her followers through every feature-air suspension, massaging seats, a high-spec finish-and then dropped a bold statement: “I’m the only Kenyan celebrity with a legit new-shape Range Rover bought in full. No loans, no hire purchase.”

The claim was loud, confident, and designed to catch attention. And it did.

Online reactions were swift and divided. Supporters praised her success and independence. Critics questioned her facts and asked whether other public figures had simply chosen not to boast about similar purchases.

The car, estimated to cost around KSh 18 million, is undeniably top-of-the-line. Vera was clear: she paid for it herself. “Not a loan. Not from a man. I work hard for my money,” she said.

But the claim that she’s the only one with such a car is harder to pin down.

Other celebrities have been seen driving new Range Rovers in recent years. Anerlisa Muigai, the Keroche heiress, was photographed with a Velar she bought in 2019. Musicians like Khaligraph Jones and Eric Omondi, as well as media personalities like Shaffie Weru and DJ Mo, have also flaunted high-end Range Rover models.

It’s true that details about whether those cars were bought in cash or financed aren’t publicly known. But neither is Vera’s, at least beyond her word. Her confidence, though, is unmistakable.

Brian Otieno, a Nairobi-based analyst who studies celebrity branding, says this is all part of the image. “Luxury cars have always been about more than transport. In Kenya, they’re statements. And Vera knows how to make one,” he says.

The post has opened up a wider conversation. In Kenya’s celebrity world, where appearance often outpaces transparency, what does it really mean to ‘own’ something? When fans see someone step out of a KSh 20 million car, do they care whether it was bought in cash or paid for in instalments?

For Vera, it seems the answer is yes.

By making her claim public, she’s doing more than showing off a car-she’s reinforcing her brand: successful, self-made, unapologetically bold.

But not everyone buys it. “We’ve heard this before,” one fan wrote in the comments. “Let her shine, but she’s not the only one.”

True or not, the car is gleaming, the post is viral, and Vera Sidika remains right where she likes to be-at the Centre of the conversation.
