Sidian Bank has entered into a formal agreement with Kirinyaga University to provide financial support to staff, students, and affiliated businesses through a wide range of tailored banking services. The Memorandum of Understanding, signed on July 30, 2025, outlines plans to offer university employees access to personal loans, mortgages, asset financing, and development loans under a flexible staff scheme. The bank has also pledged to integrate fee collection systems and project accounts into the institution’s operations.
According to the terms of the partnership, the bank will introduce check-off loans for faculty and staff, allowing repayments to be made directly from salaries. For students, the bank is preparing a line of customized banking products, including student accounts designed to promote financial literacy and ease of access to digital banking tools.
“This partnership aims to meet the financial needs of the entire university community from lecturers and administrators to students and business partners,” said Sidian Bank official.
The deal will also benefit individuals and small businesses supplying goods and services to the university. Sidian plans to offer trade finance products to help improve cash flow and credit access for vendors engaged in campus-related business.
Kirinyaga University has recently expanded its academic programs and physical infrastructure, increasing demand for streamlined financial systems to support institutional growth. The university will now operate specialized accounts to handle tuition payments, research funding, and infrastructure project management under Sidian’s support.
This partnership marks a strategic move by the bank to deepen its presence in the education sector while boosting financial inclusion among young adults in the Central region.
Both parties have committed to ongoing dialogue to evaluate the effectiveness of the services rolled out under the agreement and to explore opportunities for further collaboration.
