President William Ruto has dismissed criticism over unmet campaign promises, insisting that the government’s current path though difficult is necessary for long-term stability and growth.

Speaking during a Sunday service at the Africa Inland Church Bomani in Machakos County, where Bishop Benjamin Kalanzo was installed, Ruto reaffirmed his commitment to deliver on every promise made during the 2022 presidential campaign.

“I made those promises knowing the task would not be easy,” Ruto said. “I still stand by each of them, and I will fulfill them before my first term ends.”

The president acknowledged growing public frustration but urged Kenyans to stay patient, emphasizing that lasting change often requires uncomfortable choices. “Kenya cannot continue in the cycle of stagnation. Bold decisions must be made even when they are painful,” he said.

Ruto’s administration has faced mounting backlash in recent months over rising living costs, controversial tax measures, and austerity policies. However, the president argued that his approach is guided by the need to stabilize the economy and secure long-term gains for citizens.

In his address, Ruto also called on parents to guide and mentor young people, saying strong family values are key to national progress.

On healthcare, he issued a warning to public health centers, particularly Level 1 to Level 3 facilities, instructing them not to charge patients registered under the Social Health Authority (SHA). “We will not tolerate facilities exploiting citizens who are already under the government’s social health cover,” Ruto stated firmly.

President Ruto pledged that public resources will be shared fairly across the country, reinforcing his message of national unity and equal development.

“My government is committed to justice and fairness. Every Kenyan, regardless of background or region, will have equal access to the services and opportunities they deserve,” Ruto said.

Ruto’s remarks come at a critical moment for his administration, as economic pressures and political tension test public confidence in his leadership. Despite this, the president struck a confident tone, telling worshippers that his actions will ultimately validate his promises.

“By the time we are done with this term, our record will speak louder than any criticism,” President Ruto concluded.
