NAIROBI — Kenya and Egypt have reaffirmed their strategic alliance, vowing to strengthen cooperation on peace, trade, and development across Africa. Speaking during Egypt’s National Day celebrations at the Egyptian ambassador’s residence in Nairobi, Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi praised the growing ties between the two nations. He highlighted the wide scope of partnership that spans trade, education, research, and technology.
“Our shared goals continue to open up meaningful opportunities for both countries,” Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi said on Wednesday. “These agreements are not just diplomatic milestones they are real tools that connect our citizens to more possibilities.”
He referred to the Kenya-Egypt Joint Declaration for a Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership, signed earlier this year by Presidents William Ruto and Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The pact aims to advance cooperation in security, commerce, and development. Mudavadi described the relationship between Nairobi and Cairo as anchored in mutual respect and historic solidarity. He emphasized that the deepening partnership is critical for Africa’s collective peace and progress.
“Our nations are bound by a shared vision of a stable, peaceful, and prosperous continent,” Prime CS Mudavadi said. “From enhancing trade to driving innovation and strengthening people-to-people ties, we are shaping a future built on trust.”
During the event, Prime CS Mudavadi also paid tribute to Egypt’s outgoing ambassador to Kenya, Wael Nasreldin Attiya, commending his role in advancing bilateral ties.
“We appreciate his dedication and diplomatic effort throughout his tenure. His work has left a meaningful imprint on our relations,” Mudavadi added. The meeting underscored Egypt’s growing role as a strategic partner in East Africa, with both governments expressing commitment to building on recent gains and pushing for greater collaboration through joint programs and investments. This renewed pledge comes amid shifting geopolitical interests in the region, where both nations seek to secure influence and stability through shared economic and diplomatic initiatives.
