Fitness coach and influencer Frankie Just Gym It has stirred conversation online after candidly discussing his personal grooming choices particularly his painted nails during a new episode of the Mic Cheque Podcast.
In the wide-ranging interview published earlier this week, Frankie (real name Frank Kiarie) spoke openly about his evolving approach to style, self-expression, and masculinity. Known for his chiselled physique and strict wellness routines, the father of four shared that painting his nails is something he’s embraced confidently over the past few years.
“It’s just fashion. I like how it looks. Girls love it,” Frankie said with a smile, showing off his painted fingers during the sit-down.
The remarks sparked both praise and debate across social media, with many commending the fitness personality for breaking traditional gender norms.
Frankie also revealed that his interest in nail polish and fashion experimentation began around 2022, adding that grooming be it skin care, polished nails, or tailored fits is an extension of discipline, just like fitness.
“When I walk into a room, I know I’m put together. That gives me confidence, and that’s what fitness gave me too,” he said.
The Mic Cheque Podcast episode, titled “Intimate Fasting ft. Frankie Just Gym It”, also touched on topics like his intermittent fasting routine, mental health, parenting, and public scrutiny. At one point, he noted how the pressure to live up to social expectations can be exhausting especially for public figures navigating identity, image, and influence.
Frankie, who has previously trended for his high-profile relationships and parenting style, seemed unfazed by criticism. Instead, he encouraged young men to embrace grooming and confidence without fearing judgement.
“Masculinity is not rigid. Grooming doesn’t take anything away from who you are,” he said.
The full episode runs over an hour and is available on YouTube and major podcast platforms. As the conversation around personal style, masculinity, and self-expression continues to evolve in Kenya’s digital space, Frankie’s comments have struck a chord with many especially Gen Z and millennials who are redefining gendered expectations.
