NAIROBI — The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has restored access to its voter verification portal following a scheduled system maintenance that began over the weekend.

In a public update issued Tuesday morning, IEBC confirmed that all voter registration records from the 2022 General Election remain accurate and have not been altered.
“The Voter Verification Portal is back up and running! We appreciate your patience during the maintenance period,” IEBC posted on its official X account, directing the public to verify.iebc.or.ke to confirm their registration details.
According to the statement released on Sunday, the shutdown allowed the Commission to complete ongoing migration to a new digital infrastructure aimed at improving performance and data protection.
IEBC assured Kenyans that the voter database containing details of 22.1 million registered voters was not compromised during the exercise.
“This maintenance was part of infrastructure upgrades to improve system responsiveness and reinforce data integrity,” the Commission stated.
The portal allows voters to confirm their names, polling centers, and identification details ahead of upcoming electoral activities. It operates in conjunction with the Kenya Integrated Elections Management System (KIEMS) kits, which are used for biometric registration and identification of voters during elections.
The Commission urged all registered voters to verify their information and report any discrepancies through the portal or at their nearest IEBC office.
