Could Bayern Munich Swoop for Šeško as Transfer Dominoes Fall?

Benjamin-Sesko-RB-Leipzig

MUNICH – As Bayern Munich’s transfer dealings continue to stir both intrigue and frustration, a new name has re-emerged in the mix: Benjamin Šeško. The 21-year-old striker from RB Leipzig is reportedly available for a lower-than-expected fee, prompting speculation over whether the Bavarian giants might make a late move.

Though Bayern have been publicly focused on Liverpool’s Luis Díaz, some within the club may be considering Šeško as a more strategic — and cost-effective — addition. His physical presence, finishing ability, and long-term upside mirror what Bayern once saw in the now-departed Robert Lewandowski. According to Football Transfers, the club’s hierarchy were previously keen on pairing him with Harry Kane.

While no formal offer has been reported, the timing could make sense. Talks for VfB Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade appear to have cooled. Whether that’s a result of financial caution or shifting priorities remains unclear.

Sterling Linked with Leverkusen? Not So Fast

Elsewhere in the Bundesliga, Bayer Leverkusen found themselves linked with a surprising name — Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling. The England international has been widely tipped to leave Stamford Bridge after being omitted from the Club World Cup squad.

However, that move appears unlikely. Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg poured cold water on the story, stating: “Rumours linking Bayer 04 Leverkusen with Raheem Sterling are wide of the mark. The 30-year-old is not a target for the club.”

Leverkusen, despite losing several key players this summer, seem unwilling to rely on short-term fixes, focusing instead on building around their youth-driven, attack-heavy system under Xabi Alonso.

Rodrygo Wanted in Paris and Liverpool

Meanwhile, the battle for Real Madrid winger Rodrygo is heating up. Liverpool were first to show strong interest, but Paris Saint-Germain have now entered the race. According to Sky Germany, PSG have made initial contact and are monitoring the 24-year-old’s situation closely.

Their interest in Rodrygo comes despite a stacked frontline that includes Kylian Mbappé, Bradley Barcola, and Ousmane Dembélé. Still, the club sees Rodrygo as part of its next wave of top-tier talent.

“PSG are looking for a new young top winger,” one source close to the club confirmed. “But any move depends on the market.”

Real Madrid, for their part, have not indicated they’re eager to sell.

Real Madrid Still Chasing Rodri

Not to be outdone, Real Madrid are reportedly eyeing Manchester City’s Rodri once again. The Spanish midfielder missed much of last season with a knee injury but remains a key target for Los Blancos.

According to Spanish outlet AS, Madrid are prepared to wait until the end of Rodri’s contract in 2026 — or make a sizeable bid sooner. Sources suggest a €100 million price tag has not deterred interest.

With Luka Modrić approaching retirement and Toni Kroos already gone, Madrid are eager to rebuild their midfield — and Rodri remains their top choice.

Grealish and Koundé Also on the Move?

In Italy, Napoli are said to be eyeing Manchester City’s Jack Grealish after pulling back from a deal for Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman. Reuniting the winger with Kevin De Bruyne could add both flair and familiarity to Napoli’s frontline.

Meanwhile, Barcelona’s Jules Koundé is drawing interest from Manchester City and at least one unnamed top club, as per RMC Sport. Negotiations for a contract extension with Barcelona are ongoing, but a summer exit can’t be ruled out.
