Los Angeles — Beyoncé has shattered another industry record. Her “Cowboy Carter” stadium tour has officially become the highest-grossing country tour of all time, with total earnings surpassing $400 million, according to a statement released by Live Nation on Monday. The 32-date tour, which launched in Los Angeles in April and wrapped up in Las Vegas last Saturday, played to sold-out crowds across North America, the United Kingdom, and Europe. Billboard confirmed the tour’s status as a record-breaker in its latest report.

Beyoncé has become the highest-grossing Black artist in music history, as well as the top-earning R&B artist. She also becomes the first woman and American performer to achieve two separate tours each grossing over $400 million, following her “Renaissance World Tour” in 2023.

The “Cowboy Carter” tour featured hits such as “Texas Hold ’Em” and “16 Carriages,” highlighting Beyoncé’s creative pivot into country music. Her daughters appeared on stage with her at multiple stops, adding personal moments to her otherwise high-energy, theatrical shows.

The final concert in Las Vegas featured surprise performances from Jay-Z, Destiny’s Child, and country artist Shaboozey, who appeared on the “Cowboy Carter” album. The tour consistently honored Black musicians’ contributions to country music, a genre that Beyoncé says has long overlooked their influence.

Speaking on stage earlier this year, Beyoncé said, “This album is a tribute to those who came before me and never got the spotlight. I’m proud to carry that torch.”

Beyonce’s Grammy win earlier this year for Best Country Album marked another turning point, making her the first Black woman to receive that honor. That recognition followed nearly a decade of tension with parts of the country music community. Her 2016 performance at the Country Music Association Awards drew online backlash, with critics questioning her genre credibility.

“Cowboy Carter” has redefined expectations in country music and live performance economics. While Beyoncé’s $400 million haul leads all country tours, it remains behind Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour,” which surpassed $2 billion globally.

Beyoncé’s impact has cut across genres with each sold-out show, she challenged the boundaries of what country music can look and sound like and proved there’s a massive audience for it.
