George Oduor, a longtime personal aide and bodyguard to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, has died while receiving treatment at Nairobi West Hospital.
A source close to Odinga confirmed Oduor’s passing, stating that he had been hospitalized for the past two weeks.
“Yes, it is true we have lost him,” the source told Switch Media.
Oduor’s death has sparked an outpouring of tributes from political figures and close associates, reflecting the deep impact he had on those around him.
Among those mourning him is Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) communications director Philip Etale and Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly (MCA) Robert Alai.
Etale, in a heartfelt social media post, described Oduor as a loyal friend.
“This is one man who stood by me at all costs. I have lost a friend. Big bro. Rest easy, George. Wah!” he wrote.
Oduor had served Odinga for years, earning a reputation for his unwavering dedication and professionalism. Details surrounding the cause of his death remain undisclosed.
