Arsenal revealed their away kit for the 2024/25 campaign and the design heavily resembles the Kenyan flag.
The shirt has been designed in partnership with Labrum, a London menswear brand that tells “the untold stories of West Africa to help bridge the gap between Western and West African culture.”
Hawk-eyed Arsenal fans from Kenya were quick to identify with the colours and share their feelings on the new design.

“Arsenal have dropped the perfect Maandamno kit! They will not believe!” an X user named Frank posted.
Arsenal’s away kit reveal coincides with the ongoing protests in Kenya, which have now gone viral with clips of red carpet celebrities showing their open support to Kenyans and jumping on trends (Anguka Nayo) blowing up social media, courtesy of the innovative Gen Z behind the ongoing protests.

The wave of support coming across African nations supporting Kenyan youth has indeed fuelled a wave of pan-Africanism inspiring a renaissance sweeping across Africa.
The bold fan jersey, a collaboration between Adidas and Labrum London, showcases West African influences and pays tribute to Arsenal’s diverse fanbase with intricate graphics in the Pan-African flag colours.

So indeed, to some extent, there is some truth in the jersey being inspired by the flag though not specifically the Kenyan flag, but the Pan-African colours that resemble the majority of African national flags.
In line with sustainability and climate action, the jersey is made from recycled materials. It features a black base with intricate graphics and details in the colours of the Pan-African flag. It includes a red club cannon and incorporates red and green for the Adidas stripes and logo. The outfit is complemented by black shorts with white accents and coordinating socks.
This is Arsenal’s second black away shirt in three years, with their third shirt set to be launched in August before the start of the new Premier League season.
