Spain made history in Berlin after winning their fourth European Championship title becoming the first nation to do so.
Spain beat England 2-1 to reclaim their status as European kings of football after getting their name engraved on the Henri Delaunay Cup.

Luis de la Fuente’s men struck first in the second half, after a tense first half that ended goalless despite both teams coming agonizingly close to scoring, with multiple chances and near misses on both ends.
In the second half, La Roja, energized by young talent, dominated England with a brilliant play that broke the deadlock. Lamine Yamal, celebrating his 17th birthday and also named the young player of the tournament, provided a fine assist for Nico Williams to score.
Yamal secured his fourth assist of the tournament, finishing with the most assists in Euro 2024.
The Three Lions lived up to their name, putting up a brave fight. Gareth Southgate’s substitute Cole Palmer made the difference by equalizing with a cool finish, positioning England for a comeback in the tournament’s final moments as they had done before.
However, Spain had their plans in mind, having also dismantled opponents in the last minute. It’s exactly what they did, dispatching England in the 88th minute, shattering the hearts of English fans watching their second consecutive final slip away.
Mikel Oyrazabal came off the bench to seal Spain’s victory with a well-timed run that outdid England’s offside trap allowing the Spaniard to slot the ball into the back of the net with four minutes left on the clock.
“I have done my job. I did what I had to do at every moment to try to help. I was lucky enough to give the victory,” he said.
There was a last-minute scare for Spain however, Dani Olmo, diligently present on defensive duties, cleared the ball off the line after Declan Rice powered in a header, twice denying England a second equaliser.
Spain had the lion’s share of possession (63%), typical of their style of play, registering more attempts on target (5) with a more visible attacking flair, and doing so unbeaten boing seven out of seven in the tournament.
The player of the tournament was none other than Rodri, a man who seemed omnipresent on the field when he emerged from nowhere to block Harry Kane’s first-half attempt.
“It’s unbelievable this is a dream now we are the best national team in the euros. It’s crazy,” the player of the tournament told ITV Sport.
“The humility we have had all these years to never lose the faith. We beat four former world champions to win – it’s amazing.
