The discovery of bodies in sacks from Kware at Mkuru kwa Njenga shocked many, leaving people wondering who committed this horrendous act. The discovery was prompted by a woman who claimed the dumped bodies had been revealed to her in a dream by one of the deceased.
On Friday, July 12, six bodies were recovered, all identified as female. The bodies had been dismembered. Conspiracy theories about the deaths grew as this occurred shortly after the recent disappearance of protesters involved in anti-government demonstrations.
With Kenya experiencing a wave of events, this disheartening incident added to the already disoriented environment. The Kenyan police force took action, and on Monday, they arrested the suspected killer.
Thirty-three-year-old Collins Jomaisia, suspected of killing the nine retrieved bodies, confessed to killing over 42 people. Collins was arrested in Kayole. His arrest followed a forensic analysis of one victim’s phone, which placed him as the killer.
The DCI stated that Collins’s killing spree started in 2022 when he killed his wife by strangling her, dismembered her body, and dumped it in the same Kware. Collins has been labelled a psychopathic serial killer by DCI director Amin Mohamed.
His killings were said to be driven by vengeance after his late wife squandered all his money. The murders were reported to have occurred from 2022 to 2024. Collins was arrested as he was in the process of trying to lure another victim.
