This program aims to highlight creators and non-profits making a meaningful impact in their communities through the platform.

As a Changemaker from Kenya, Dennis Ombachi, a self-taught chef and former international rugby sevens player, will receive support to help him build engaged communities, reach new audiences, and access real-world opportunities through dedicated tools, resources, and donations to designated non-profit organizations.

The former Shujaa player, with his 2.3 million followers on TikTok, is known for his short and snappy cooking videos and his philanthropic efforts in Nairobi. His partnership with the non-profit organization Mtoto News focuses on giving young people a voice in the digital/tech industry and making online platforms safer for all.

Dennis, along with other Changemakers, will receive a Ksh 3.2 million ($25,000) direct donation to support their respective advocacies, amplifying the impact of their work. TikTok will donate over $1 million to more than 30 global and local non-profit organizations through the TikTok Change Makers Grant.

Kim Farrell, Head of Creators at TikTok, expressed pride in launching the TikTok Change Makers Program, asserting its role in helping social impact creators and non-profit organizations reach more communities, unlock real-world opportunities, and bring about lasting, meaningful change.

Other creators from across Africa selected for the program include @charityekezie from Nigeria, @doctor.siya from South Africa, and @pilot_onthegram, the first South African pilot verified on TikTok, who creates educational content to inspire future pilots and aviators, particularly women.

He leads the pack as one of the most influential male Kenyan athletes on social media, alongside renowned sports figures such as Eliud Kipchoge, Ferdinand Omanyala, Michael Olunga and Victor Wanyama.
