Famed Kenyan Actress, Kate alias Kate Actress, will today attend a state dinner held at the White House.
“Good morning. This village girl will be attending the STATE DINNER at the White House & a Luncheon at the #TylerPerry studios in Atlanta by invitation from Her Excellency Ambassador Meg Whitman @usembassynairobi your efforts and commitment towards the growth of the Kenyan creative economy is greatly appreciated,” her post on Instagram captioning an image of the White House read.
Her comment section was flooded with congratulatory posts from fellow celebrities such as Jackie Matubia, Bridget Shighadi, Jacky Vike and Holy Dave Muthengi among many more.
Just recently, a survey found that she is the most publicized Kenyan celebrity on billboards country wide.
She has previously worked with household names such as Harpic, Sta Soft, Infinix and Netflix, to name just a few. Kenyans know her as Selina, a role she played in the show Mother-in-law years back. She has also worked with Safaricom and Nice and Lovely.
It appears US Ambassador Meg Whitman recognises her talent because in April this year, Kate graced an event at the US Embassy in Nairobi alongside Jacky Matubia.
She is arguably one of the biggest actresses in the country. Her ties with Netflix began in 2021 when she starred in Nafsi, a Kenyan film that was put up on Netflix.
In 2023, Kate was recognized as part of the top 100 Kenyans, adding to her long list of achievements. In the same year, she received her Order of the Grand Warrior award from the President. This was a very successful year for her, as she was named Actress of the Year by the Africa Women Awards.
The actress, whose real name is Catherine Kamau, has been known to go all out when it comes to her outfits. We can’t wait to see what she will wear.
