Scarlett Johansson has expressed shock at the resemblance between her voice and that of OpenAI’s “Sky.” OpenAI had approached Scarlett to be the voice of Sky, their Artificial intelligence avatar, but she declined due to personal reasons. Sky is the voice of OpenAI’s ChatGPT, similar to Apple’s Siri and Amazon’s Alexa.
As a result, her lawyers have requested that OpenAI demonstrate how they were able to generate Sky’s voice. OpenAI, however, has stated that Sky’s voice was not intentionally made to sound like Scarlett Johansson. They also mentioned that they had interviewed several voice actors before approaching Scarlett for the role of Sky.

They argue that AI is encroaching on their territory by producing content that encroaches on the tasks that writers should be doing, such as generating written content. Actors like Scarlett Johansson are concerned about the use or imitation of their voices without their consent. When an actor’s voice is employed in specific content projects, they are entitled to payment. However, if their voices are used without their knowledge, they receive nothing.
