Nyashinski made quite the entrance into the Sol Fest VIP Show that went down Tuesday night at Uhuru Gardens. According to Nyamari, he “rolled into Sol Fest in style which was the best show ever!”
Videos of his ground performance have been posted online and Kenyans have reacted hilariously. Some of the comments under these videos are worthy conversation starters.

Let’s talk about Munga (Wakadinali)
A comment under one of these videos alleged that Kenyans would have accused Munga of using drugs had he been the rolling artist. This comes after Munga and his entire team Wakadinali made a “drunk appearance” at the Oktober Fest.
Kenyans received Wakadinali fairly well and began vibing hard with Kenyan-drill because of their hard-hitting bars. Lyrics from some of their songs have gone viral across the country and some have made hilarious memes.
Wakadinali is a Kenyan drill music group that also goes by the name Rong Rende. After videos of their Saturday performance surfaced, fans and critics alike were quick to type their reactions.
Thus, people’s disappointment when the group let down Kenyans in an event that attracted African music giants. A critical conversation sparked online on why most “ghetto” groups from Kenya rarely make it far.
Some Kenyans even claimed that Wakadinali’s fall would be similar to that of most Gengetone artists in Kenya. To whom much is given, much is expected. Kenyans only hope that the group will still be able to bag grand shows in the future.
Nyashinski is Overrated
A fan in denial commented, “Nyash is overrated… mimi hua sioni kitu special na yeye.” (Nyash is overrated… I don’t see anything special about him). Since Nyashinski did not reply to the individual’s comment, some of his fans decided to back him up.
@tolatheflygirl – Because you are not special
@damariyz – Huwexi elewa bro
@reimykev – uzuri umesema wewe
@karimi_wesonga – What’s special about you?
@azizumo – I think wewe ni wa juzi. He’s got support all the way from Tanzania since being in Kleptomaniax mtalaam. Tulia unywe maji.
However, the critic’s sentiments are not new to netizens. Since Nyashinski dropped his latest song, Perfect Design, several memes and tweets have been made regarding his scorecard. Nonetheless, it is said that only a fruitful tree is cast stones.
Nyashinski is among the artists who put Kenyan music and artists on the global map. The artist has been recognized by heavy international brands such as Coca-Cola, Tecno, Diageo, and Samsung, among others. But prophets have never had it easy being accepted at their homes.
The Fans’ Show will be better
“Anyway, mimi naona ya Saturday itababamba kushinda hii,” commented another fan. (Anyway, I see the one on Saturday being lit than this one). But, what could be more lit than a guest artist rolling down the stage at a VIP performance?
Nonetheless, trust Kenyans to bring a competitive spirit into anything happening on earth. The Sol Fest Fans Show is set to take place on Saturday and a majority of Sauti Sol fans opted for the fans edition. This was after Sauti Sol charged Ksh. 20,000 for a ticket to the VIP Show.
At first, Kenyans could not believe the audacity of these four, black, Luhya men. However, the group shocked netizens when the VIP Show tickets were sold out in less than a fortnight. As if that wasn’t enough, latecomers tickets going for an extra Ksh. 5,000 were also sold out days before the event.
Bet that these two events will be compared and Kenyans must know who between business class and economy class got their money’s worth. Given that it is Sauti Sol’s last performance as a group, fans will want to make the most out of it. May the best show win!
What is wrong with Kisii men?
It is somewhat brutal but also hilarious that someone would compare Nyashinski’s fall to Embarambamba’s rolling acts. Nyamari Ongegu, who hails from Kisii land has united Kenyans through his fall, thus confirming that these brothers are down to earth.
Embarambamba, a controversial Kenyan gospel musician stole the limelight with his mud-rolling stunts. In most of his music videos, the man is seen clad in nice suits only for him to fully immerse himself in mud. Before Kenyans could understand what the matter was with Embarambamba, he was always trending.
Nyashinski’s roll reminded Kenyans of his tribesman’s mud rolling and one could say that these clansmen have a thing for rolling. Nyamari’s roll appears to be very seamless, almost as if it were part of the performance. However, Kenyans would not have been surprised if it had.
Friends like Sauti Sol
Sauti Sol have been together for 18 years making them the only Kenyan celebrity band to have stayed put for that long. Their tightness has been attributed to their history together as long-term friends and business colleagues.
During his fall, Nyashinski was performing “Short and Sweet” a song he collaborated on with Sauti Sol. Bien, Chimano, and Savara swiftly rushed to the rapper’s rescue and netizens fell in love with the cuteness of the moment. Polycarp who must have been somewhere holding a guitar probably had his hands full already.
Nonetheless, the men picking up Nyashinski from the ground and jumping on to his lyrics to help him gain momentum symbolized true friendship. “What I see: the friends who pick you up and get you back in the zone after you trip,” said one of the comments under the video.

The world wishes them all the best in their endeavors and hopes that every once in a while, the men will join throats to give us quality music.
