Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) arrested four individuals suspected of orchestrating the Ksh94 million heist in Nairobi’s CBD. The stolen funds, proceeds from a local supermarket’s weekend sales, were destined for deposit at a nearby bank.
The primary suspect, identified as the owner of the vehicle used in the heist, was apprehended in Rongai. Simultaneously, the vehicle was located in Njiru, Kayole, where two additional suspects were taken into custody while attempting to alter the vehicle’s appearance to conceal its identity, as detailed in the police report.
Expanding the investigative scope to the Thika Road Mall (TRM) vicinity in Kasarani, law enforcement successfully arrested a fourth suspect at his rented residence. During this operation, a sum of Ksh9.1 million was recovered from the total amount stolen, which had amounted to Ksh94 million.

A significant development in the case unfolded when an empty cash box was discovered in the forest adjacent to Gataka market in Karen. This location is believed to be where the stolen cash was divided among the suspects. “All the scenes have been processed by the Crime Scene and Investigation (CSI) Nairobi Region,” stated a section of the police report.
Detectives from Capitol Hill Police Station reported that efforts are currently underway to recover the remaining stolen cash. Earlier this week, two security firm employees disappeared with the Ksh94 million which belonged to Quickmart supermarket.
