4 Year Old Girl Drowns in Taita Taveta Water Tank

A four-year-old girl tragically lost her life after falling into an uncovered water tank in Taita Taveta County. The incident happened on Wednesday evening in Chechewa village, leaving the community in grief and shock.

Local police authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the little girl’s untimely death. Eyewitnesses revealed that she was playing with other children near the Praise Centre when the tragedy occurred.

One of the residents, Sarah Mwikali, who witnessed the incident said, “It happened so fast. The children were playing, and the next thing we knew, she had fallen into the uncovered tank. It’s a painful loss for our village.”

The girl was quickly retrieved from the water tank, but the efforts to save her life were in vain. She was rushed to Taveta Subcounty Hospital, where medical personnel pronounced her dead on arrival.

In another incident in Makueni County, a 60-year-old man named Bernard Mwasa met a tragic end following a fight with an unknown assailant in Ndalani village. The discovery of his lifeless body on his bed raised numerous questions about the circumstances leading to his death.

According to Mwasa’s brother, who spoke to the police, he grew concerned when he couldn’t get a response from his brother. Upon entering the house, he made a startling discovery.

“I found blood stains in the living room, which led me to his bedroom where I found his lifeless body on the bed,” he recounted.

Upon further investigation, the police determined that the deceased had visible head injuries, suggesting that a violent altercation had taken place. Residents in the area believe that Mwasa had been involved in a fight before returning to his house, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

The identity of the assailant remains unknown, and the police have yet to apprehend the suspect. Mwasa’s body has been transferred to the mortuary, pending an autopsy and further investigation.

Meanwhile, in Kwale County, a shocking incident happened at Mkanyeni dispensary, where a nurse was viciously stabbed and left in a critical condition. The attack, which took place on October 25, has left the local community bewildered, with the motive behind the assault shrouded in mystery.

The victim, identified as Nelson Chindoro Kwaka, was on duty at the facility when he was attacked by an unknown person. The police, upon arrival at the scene, were met with a gruesome sight as they found Kwaka with protruding intestines. The assailant had vanished, leaving no immediate leads for the investigation.

Kwaka was promptly rushed to Kinango Subcounty Hospital for urgent medical attention, and as of now, he remains in a serious condition.

The motive behind the attack is yet to be ascertained, and the police have intensified their efforts to solve this perplexing case. A team of detectives has visited the scene and spoken to local residents as part of their ongoing probe.
