Antony had been withdrawn from the squad after “facts became public” that “need to be investigated”. Brazilian news outlet UOL posted the allegations made by Antony’s ex-partner on Monday.

However, police in Sao Paulo and Greater Manchester are investigating the claims, which the player has denied.
“I can calmly state that the accusations are false and that the evidence already produced and the other evidence that will be produced demonstrate that I am innocent of the accusations made,” Antony said on social media.
“I trust that the ongoing police investigations will demonstrate the truth about my innocence.”
The Antony scandal
Antony is faced with attacking his former girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin “with a headbutt” in a Manchester hotel room on 15 January, leaving her with a cut head that needed treatment from a doctor.

The girlfriend also alleges she was punched in the chest, causing damage to a silicone breast implant, which required corrective surgery.
Antony added in his statement on Monday that his relationship with his former partner was “tumultuous”, but insisted he “never committed any physical aggression”.
Astonishingly, Antony also released a statement in June saying his former girlfriend had falsely accused him of domestic violence.
Eric Bailly completes move to Besiktas
Manchester United defender Eric Bailly has signed to Turkish side Besiktas. The Ivory Coast international, 29, is not part of United manager Erik ten Hag’s plans and spent last season on loan at Marseille.
Bailly was former boss Jose Mourinho’s first signing when he joined from Villarreal in June 2016.

He went on to make 113 appearances for United, scoring one goal, but has struggled with injuries. Bailly’s last competitive appearance for United was in a 3-1 win over Burnley in December 2021.
A statement from the Turkish Super Lig side said: “Our club has reached an agreement with Manchester United for the final transfer of Ivorian defender Eric Bailly.
