1. Giorgio Armani
The Italian designer is best known for his men’s suits. He first launched his business in the mid-1970s. His fame grew when his men’s suits started to appear more on the 80’s movies like American Gigolo and Miami Vice worn by the male actors.
He is worth $8 billion which makes him the richest fashion designer in the world. He currently has over 300 physical shops all over the world. Armani is credited for being the designer to get Italian fashion to an international audience.
2. Ralph Lauren
The American designer is known for his polo shirts. He served in the US Army and attended Baruch College and later worked as a salesperson for the Brooks brothers. He later quit to start his own namesake brand with the Ralph Lauren polo shirt being his most popular clothing.
His brand has expanded from the polo shirts and now includes eyewear, footwear and furniture. His brand is associated with the elite, timeless pieces and a preppy style. Having started his brand with only $50 thousand he is now worth $6.6 billion.
3. Miuccia Prada
She took over her family business back in 1978. She started out by making waterproof backpacks. She eventually became the creative designer behind her incredible designs.
She is currently worth $5 billion and her company Prada is worth $14.6 billion. Prada is one of the few fashion brands that are still fully owned by the family.

4. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana
The duo founded their brand in 1985. The two Italians have managed to grow in the fashion industry so much so that they have ventured into new things like hotels, fragrances and eyewear.
The two individually have a net worth of $1.6 billion. Their fashion brand is known for its luxurious touch, extravagant fabrics and electric patterns. Their marketing is also very unique with very eye-catching visuals.
The most recent being their first ever collaboration; Ciao Kim. They collaborated with reality star Kim Kardashian to create a collection inspired by their vintage looks.
