Princess Diana almost did not marry King Charles III in her gorgeous larger-than-life wedding gown. The princess had a backup dress in case the one she wore got leaked.
Her wedding gown goes down in history as one of the most fashionable wedding dresses in history.
Princess Diana and King Charles III got married in July 1981 at St. Paul cathedral in London. The 20-year-old was going to be a princess and she needed a gown that was glamourous. This was the start of her memorable and jaw-dropping fashion statements.
Elizabeth Emanuel, the designer to the famous wedding gown shared with Helo magazine sketches of princess Diana backup dress. The second option was designed incase her initial dressed got leaked to the public before her wedding day.
The spare wedding gown was made just in case the secret of the real dress ever got out. Fortunately, it was never used.

Elizabeth shared never-before-seen photos of the backup dress with the magazine. She shared that there were many similarities with her original dress. It had a V-shaped neckline with a ruffled trim, the voluminous puff sleeves and the voluminous ball gown skirt.
The dress was made in pale ivory silk taffeta with embroidered scalloped details on the hem and sleeves. Tiny pearls were sewn on the bodice.
Elizabeth and her team had to take pre-cautions to ensure that the dress was not leaked to the public. She shares that they had guards guarding the dress 24/7 and even had to throw in colored fabric in their bin because people were going through their bins.
We had the dress stored in every night in a metal cabinet guarded by two guards. So there was somebody there 24 hours a day and we put shutters on all our windows, and we put the false color threads in the rubbish bins because people were going through our bins.
