In a recent interview, Akothee opened up about her relationship with her ex-lover, Nelly Oaks.
The two were seen together at Akothee’s daughter’s wine event, and their interactions during the event sparked speculations of a possible romantic connection.

Nelly has been there for me all my life. His family and my family are extremely close. When my father sees Nelly, tears well his eyes. The public has their own version of what they assumed happened between us.

However, Akothee clarified that Nelly Oaks is not just an ex-lover but also a close family friend. Their families have a strong bond, and her father is emotionally moved whenever he sees Nelly.
He saved me from drowning in a bathtub at the Weston hotel. I was going through a terrible time. I was deeply depressed. Nelly is the only man who stood by me. At my lowest when I was fighting with my baby daddies I contemplated suicide.

The singer became emotional while talking about Nelly’s role in her life during her difficult times. She revealed that Nelly had been there for her during her darkest moments, including saving her from a potential suicide attempt when she was deeply depressed. Nelly also supported her during conflicts with her baby daddies and even saved her from a dangerous situation at a hotel.

Akothee also shared that Nelly witnessed her struggles and fights while living overseas, including being thrown out of Switzerland and getting into altercations with locals in Europe.

During her time in the hospital, Nelly was by her side, inspecting every medication administered to her. Akothee expressed her gratitude, stating that if it weren’t for him, she might not be alive today.
Regarding her new husband, Dennis Shwizer (Omosh), Akothee said that she has been open about her past relationship with Nelly. Although they haven’t met yet, Omosh plans to meet Nelly and get to know him better over some drinks.
