DC fans should be excited with the addition of new cast to their already impressive cast as Kenyan Edi Gathegi who has features in movies like Twilight is set to join the cast of Superman legacy as Mister Terrific. The Superman Legacy production is also adding Isabela Merced as hawkgirl and Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern.
Earlier the studio announced that Corenswet would play Clark Kent and Bros Nahan would play Lois Lane. The change in cast comes after Henry Cavil announced he would not be returning as Superman last October.
I will, after all, not be returning as Superman. After being told by the studio to announce my return back in October, prior to their hire, this news isn’t easiest, but that is life. The changing of guard is something that happens. I respect that.

This would be another Kenyan joining a superhero film, as Lupita Nyong’o featured in the Marvel movie Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever where she plays Nakia. During her interviews she shared how it took a toll on her having to navigate her character’s emotional journey. She eventually wraps her head around it noticing the structure of the film highlights exploration of grief.

There are many African American actors and musicians as well who have lately been embracing their African roots. Boris Kodjoe from Ghana has featured in movies like Resident Evil and House of cards. Benjamin Onyango from Kenya has featured in movies like God’s not dead and Beautifully Broken. Charlie Theron from South Africa has featured in movies like 15 minutes and The Devil’s Advocate. Danai Gurira from Zimbabwe has featured in movies like Black Panther and Tinker bell.
