Marvel’s Black Panther 2 Star Denies Sexual Assault Allegations

Tenoch Huerta, renowned for his role as Namor in Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever, has strongly refuted allegations of sexual assault made against him by musician and activist Maria Elena Rios.

The actor took to Instagram to defend himself, dismissing the claims as “false and unsubstantiated” and affirming that he had engaged in a consensual relationship with Rios for several months.

Huerta expressed his determination to confront these accusations head-on, stating, “I cannot let it go unchallenged any longer.” He elaborated, asserting that during their time together, their relationship was characterized by love, warmth, and mutual support.

However, following the end of their relationship, Huerta claimed that Rios had misrepresented their interactions both privately and in front of mutual friends.

The actor revealed that he has recently sought legal assistance to protect his reputation and counter the “irresponsible and false accusations” that could potentially cause significant harm and prejudice.

“Although I am by no means perfect, I know that these allegations are simply untrue. And while I will always work to improve myself, I need to contest claims that are both false and offensive.”

Huerta emphasized

Expressing gratitude to his friends, family, and those who have taken the time to examine the facts before rushing to conclusions, Huerta concluded his Instagram statement, hoping for a fair and just resolution.

The allegations surfaced after professional saxophonist Maria Elena Rios shared a series of tweets, accusing Huerta of sexual assault. Rios, a former member of Mexican anti-racism organization Poder Prieto, criticized the group for sharing a podcast episode without her consent, specifically requesting that they refrain from publishing anything about her.

In one tweet, Rios referred to Huerta as a “sexual predator.” Another tweet portrayed him as a “narcissist” and highlighted the emotional abuse and abuse of power she claims to have experienced. Rios described Huerta as charismatic in appearance, attributing it to the “great hallmark of a narcissist” and lamenting the challenges associated with exposing a sexual predator who is celebrated worldwide for his role in a movie.
