70-year-old mama mboga, Pauline Waithira, who was at the frontline during UDA campaigns has come out to say that the politicians used her to get the votes of poor people and dumped her after winning the elections.
Speaking to Nation, the elderly grocery vendor said that she is angry at the president and UDA party leaders for not picking up her calls after winning the elections. She says that her attempts at reaching out to different UDA leaders including Trade CS Moses Kuria and Kimani Wamatangi have been futile despite the promises of a better life during the campaigns.
Pauline Waithira was fronted by UDA during presidential campaigns in 2022 as the face of those whom the bottom-up economic model was meant to help. She was earlier seen in public appearances with President William Ruto before his election into office.

Pauline Waithira further said that she has been struggling to make ends meet while she had hope for a better life after UDA’s election into office. She has made her stand against the current proposed Finance Bill saying that it does not favor the poor people and asking the president to look into the issue of the cost of living.
ICT CAS Dennis Itumbi has come out to rubbish the claims by Pauline saying that her story was published with malicious intentions. He took to his Twitter page writing;

Itumbi has said that Pauline’s claims are untrue as the president has delivered and is still working on other projects to help the hustlers.
