For centuries this has been a pattern where by the low class in society want to copy the way those of higher social status dress like. The upper class being upset had to set rules on materials and colours that would be worn to distinguish the two.
In 2023, the old money trend is being copied by middle and low class people as a way to imitate and try and blend in with the percentage od upper class who dress like that. The old money trend is a trend that incorporates dressing like those from generational wealth families like Royals.
The trend incorporates wearing more neutrals, tailored pieces, tennis inspired looks, equestrian inspired looks, minimal logos and preppy inspired looks.
Celebrities such as Sofia Richie, Jasmine Tookes, Daniel Craig, George Clooney and Rosie Huntington-Whitely having adapted the aesthetic and being a source of inspiration for many. Luxury brands like Loro Piana, Channel, Ralph Lauren and Brunello Cucinelli have had this as their aesthetic being that the actual old money buys from their brands. High street fashion brands like Mango and Zara have adopted to the trend and created inspired looks from the luxury brands like tweed coats.
