Bill Cosby Faces Sexual Assault Charges From 9 More Women

The Cosby Show star Bill Cosby has been sued by nine more women in Nevada for sexual assault dating decades back.

In the lawsuit, the women claim that the famous actor and comedian used his influence to intimidate them into silence for years.

The lawsuit was filed on Wednesday in a Nevada federal court and alleges that the victims were assaulted after being drugged by the 85-year-old actor in a series of assaults that ran between 1979 and 1992 in residences, changing rooms, and motels near Lake Tahoe and Reno, Nevada.

The recent lawsuit comes only a few weeks have passed since Nevada governor Joe Lombardo signed a statute eliminating the two-year window for filing sexual assault claims by adults. One of the plaintiffs in the case, Lise-Lotte Lublin, is said to have been at the forefront in advocating for the change.

For years I have fought for survivors of sexual assault and today is the first time I will be able to fight for myself. With the new law change, I now have the ability to take my assailant Bill Cosby to court. My journey has just begun, but I am grateful for this opportunity to find justice.

Ms. Lublin said, speaking to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Bill Cosby was the first celebrity to be convicted during the #MeToo movement and was imprisoned for over three years in a state prison not far from Philadelphia when an appeals court reversed his conviction, which led to his release in 2021.
