The advantage of getting deals done early is key in that, it allows players to have their futures decided in advance and allows the manager to hit the ground running when their squad reports for pre-season.

Pochettino to sign three-year Chelsea deal

The Daily Telegraph reports Mauricio Pochettino is returning to London from Barcelona this week to sign his contract as Chelsea’s new head coach, which is expected to be an initial three years, and immediately start planning for next season.

De Zerbi: Caicedo, Mac Allister might leave Brighton this summer

Roberto De Zerbi has admitted Brighton could lose key players Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister this summer.

“Maybe Caicedo, maybe Mac Allister. We have to be ready to bring in other good players.”

Caicedo and Mac Allister have been star players for Brighton this season, and have unsurprisingly attracted multiple suitors.

Caicedo has featured on the wishlists of Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool, although the latter has been positively pitching to Mac Allister’s camp. The Argentina international is high on Jurgen Klopp’s shortlist of targets.

“For the likes of Kaoru Mitoma and Pervis Estupinan, I think for them the best solution is to stay with us. I don’t know if they are ready to play in the big teams yet. We can offer them the opportunity to progress and improve.”

Manchester United ready to reignite Rabiot pursuit | Newcastle also keen

Manchester United are ready to reignite their pursuit of Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to French publication L’Equipe.

United agreed on a deal with the Serie A club to sign Rabiot last summer but in the end, opted against the transfer after failing to reach an agreement on personal terms.

However, with the 28-year-old’s contract expiring at the end of June and there being no sign of a new deal in the pipeline, United manager Erik Ten Hag has reportedly decided to renew his interest.
