London was buzzing with excitement as the city prepared for the coronation of King Charles III at Westminster Abbey in England, United Kingdom.
The historic abbey was filled with dignitaries and celebrities, including well-known figures from the world of politics and entertainment such as Ant and Dec, Joanna Lumley, and Katy Perry.
The streets of central London were alive with anticipation as the public eagerly awaited the lavish displays of royal pageantry that were planned for the day. The next leg of their journey saw them departing from the palace in the Diamond Jubilee state coach later that morning, en route to Westminster Abbey, where they were formally crowned.
Earlier, Penny Mordaunt was spotted making her way to Neal’s Yard, which had also been a frequent destination for military officials that morning. Accompanied by an individual holding an umbrella, she braved the rainy weather that is synonymous with British occasions.
As the leader of the House of Commons, Mordaunt played a crucial role in the coronation ceremony. She was responsible for carrying the sword of state into Westminster Abbey, a task that held significant symbolic importance for the occasion.

Accompanied by her granddaughter Finnegan, US First Lady Dr. Jill Biden arrived at the venue in a three-car motorcade. She looked stunning in a stylish cornflower blue attire. Notably, the US President Joe Biden did not accompany her to the event.

However, not all individuals were celebrating the occasion. Members of Republic, an anti-monarchy group, were among the half dozen people arrested near Trafalgar Square.
While the majority of the public was thrilled to witness the coronation of the new king, Republic and its followers voiced their opposition to the monarchy and staged a protest against the event.
