Who would dare choose one over the other? Here’s the latest on Twitter as ex-Manchester United’s Vidic and Liverpool’s Van Dijk fans clash.
In case you missed it, Nemanja Vidic and Virgil Van Dijk are being compared on Twitter to establish who was the more complete Center-back in Premier League history. Vidic played for Manchester United between 2006-2014 winning five Premier League titles under head coach Sir Alex Ferguson. Virgil Van Dijk has been Liverpool’s most reliable defender in recent years since joining from Southampton in 2018.
How Did the Comparison Between Van Dijk and Vidic Begin?
On Twitter in 2019, Sky Sports polled users to determine the greatest Premier League center-back of all time.
In the quarterfinals and semifinals, Van Dijk beat Tony Adams and Vincent Kompany, in the quarter-finals and semi-finals respectively.
But in the final poll, Vidic edged him 45% to 55%.
