The Azimio coalition flag bearer Raila Odinga has answered a section of Kenya Kwanza leaders that he is not after a handshake with President William Ruto.
Speaking in Nairobi on Thursday, March 23, Odinga said that the Kenya Kwanza leaders are giving misleading information to the citizens.
The ODM party leader and former Prime Minister clarified that there was no way he could have a handshake with an illegitimate government.
“The Kenya Kwanza regime has continued to claim that all we are looking for is a handshake. We assuredly disprove this unverified gossips that we are protesting to improve the lives of Kenyans. This is an insult to the intelligence of Kenyans,” Raila Odinga said.
“We as Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya will not and cannot accept President William Ruto to take us to the old days of the political ruling,” Odinga stated.

President Ruto on the other hand also insists that there will be no political handshake between the competitors and that any engagement will only happen through official channels, including Parliament.
UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala is claiming that some of the Azimio people initiated the handshake talks with the government at night.

“What Azimio is doing is a way to seek a handshake with the Head of State. Up to yesterday evening, they were sending political officials to see if they can have an inclusive solid agreement,” UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala said.
UDA Secretary-General also said the opposition mass action not only affects the people of Nairobi but also other sectors that bring finances to the country at large.
