Super Metro has just advanced modern electric buses to Nairobi routes and major satellite towns including Kitengela and Kikuyu in order to quicken transport.
In an interview with a local media outlet in Nairobi on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, Super Metro Sacco chairperson Nelson Mwangi Nduki, stated that residents of Imara Daima, Juja, and Ngong will significantly enjoy the services of the introduced electric buses.
The Kikuyu-bound buses will operate on Waiyaki Way route through the identified stopping points including Kangemi, Westlands, Uthiru, and Kinoo respectively.
Further, the Kitengela-bound buses will magnificently operate along Mombasa Road.
In a statement, Nduki said that the company had Five buses in place to offer transport services at highly ranked performance to city residents.

The images shared on social media platforms indicated that the buses had been branded Super Metro with number plates of the KD series.

Super Metro officials indicated that the fare will be similar to the normal diesel-run vehicles.

According to a separate statement by the Electric Vehicle Company, BasiGo, the launch of the electric buses was undertaken under a partnership program.
“The number of Electric Buses in Kenya keeps on growing each and every day, we handed Super Metro its first electric bus. The bus will operate on the Central Business District (CBD) -Kikuyu and CBD Kitengela routes as identified,” reads the statement.
In November 2022, the bus company showcased that Ten electric buses were ordered for the project aimed at revolutionizing the transport industry.
“The modern electric buses will be branded with Super Metro colors for easy identification on roads,” Super Metro Sacco Chairperson Nelson Mwangi Nduki.
