More than 2,800 Young Kenyan women graduated with Certificates in the Digital Employability Program, from the Africa Advanced Level Telecommunications Institute (AFRALTI) on January 26, 2023.
The award ceremony themed: ‘Young Women for the Digital Economy’ was aimed at celebrating the 2,832 great women who were initially vulnerable and coming from informal settlements and rural areas.
The training aimed at leveraging these young Kenyan Women on to the digital space to help them create and monetize creative skills, in order to improve their livelihoods.

The British High Commission in Kenya, under its Digital Access Program sponsored the program financially, with a goal of empowerment.
Mercy Wanjau, the Secretary to the Cabinet was present in the awarding ceremony, where she applauded the drivers of the program.

She further lamented that the graduation ceremony and the impact of the Project are testaments to the transformational power of technology nb3wsx
“As a country, we have made significant strides in the digital space. Like many other countries in the world, it is because of ICT technology that we were able to remain resilient despite the difficult operating environment at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic,” she said.
Jonathan Mueke, Sports and Arts PS congratulated the women for the successful completion of the program.
