President William Ruto on Tuesday, January 31 chaired the first paperless Cabinet meeting at State House clarifying a major government drive into digitization.
The Cabinet Secretaries (CS) arrived at the State House, without the traditional bulky folders, large briefcases, and huge files as a reference to the meeting.
In the meeting room, they found secured portable digital devices interconnected and attached to their files, memos, and a secure notebook to assist them to take notes without leaving the devices.
“Kenyan citizens will be able to access government services from anywhere, from the comfort of their homes or offices, without having to go unnecessarily to government offices and wait in long queues,” said President Ruto.
The bold move is expected to magnificently reduce the cost of printing and enhance the security of Cabinet records on time.
President Ruto clarified that the digitization of cabinet meetings was a clear showcase that the Government is migrating to digital.

“Digital processes will enhance service delivery by fostering efficiency and eliminating unnecessary bureaucracy in government”, Ruto added.
The Kenya Kwanza administration promises majorly to invest more in digital, in order to upgrade its services in the country.
