Man Utd have advanced to the fifth round of the FA Cup following a 3-1 home win over Championship side Reading FC as Casemiro scores twice.

Casemiro has once again proved how vital he is to Utd Manager Erik Ten Haag’s plans. The negative pundits are undoubtedly in hiding following the Brazilian midfielder’s performance in the FA Cup fixture against Reading FC at Old Trafford.

United initially struggled to make the breakthrough in the first half. In the 14th minute, Rashford stings the goalkeeper’s palms with a terrific free-kick. Eriksen responds to the follow-up, but his effort is blocked.

While Wout Weghorst, Christian Eriksen, and Marcus Rashford all had chances to break the score, Fernandes twice dragged shots across the goal and wide.

When United finally put the ball in the back of the net, VAR saved Reading by ruling Weghorst to be offside before he nodded the ball in Rashford’s direction.

Tyrell Malacia’s error gave Junior Hoilett a chance to score 10 yards out on the stroke of halftime, but goalkeeper David de Gea made a trademark save with his legs.

In the second half, United came back onto the turf with intent, and in the 54th minute Casemiro burst forward from a sublime pass from Antony and chipped the oncoming Reading goalkeeper Joe Lumley.

Fred comes on to replace Eriksen in the 57th minute and a minute later Casemiro scores from outside the box. A red card is issued to Reading striker and former Liverpool forward Andy Carroll for a foul on Malacia.

It doesn’t take long for United to make the most of their numerical advantage and Fred scores from a samba flair backheel. Reading pull one back in the 71st minute as Mbengue is unmarked in the box and nods home from a corner. 3-1 as United hold out the rest of the game.
