Les Blues are through to the semi-finals and the defending champions France are scheduled to face Morocco in the 2022 Qatar World Cup on Wednesday.
The 2022 Qatar World Cup semi-finalists are now aware of their opponents. This is after France edged out England 2-1 at the Al Bayt Stadium.
England captain Harry Kane had scored a penalty earlier in the game and was given the opportunity to level the scores for the Three Lions. However, the Tottenham Hotspur star blasted the chance over the bar.

Eight minutes into the second half and the goal-scorer turns villain. Aurélien Tchouaméni brings down Saka inside the penalty area and Harry Kane converts with great aplomb. 1-1, Harry Kane equals Wayne Rooney’s record of 53 goals in an England jersey.

Soon after kickoff France midfielder Adrien Rabiot almost scores but Jordan Pickford in England’s goal makes a stunning save. In the 71st minute, Harry Maguire’s header from a Henderson freekick shaves the outside of the post.
In the 78th minute, France’s all-time top scorer Olivier Giroud scores to make it 2-1. Griezmann finds Giroud after his initial attempt is blocked, and the striker does damage to England.
Drama in the 82nd minute as Hernandez brings down Mason Mount in the box, confirmed by a VAR check. Harry Kane blasts the penalty over the bar. England bring on Rashfiord and Sterling but the damage has already been done and time is running out.
In the last possible minute, England get a freekick on the edge of the box but Marcus Rahsford’s attempt slightly misses the goal much to the relief of France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
France will face Morocco on Wednesday 14th December at the Al Bayt Stadium for a spot in the final of the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
