CS Kuria will hold bilateral talks in Saudi Arabia as well as have a meeting with the Private Sector movers and the Saudi Public Investments Fund
The Cabinet Secretary for Trade and Industry Moses Kuria on Monday, December 19 traveled to Saudi Arabia for a three-day state visit for Trade talks.
According to CS Kuria, his visit aims at deepening Trade and Investment Partnerships between the two countries.
CS Kuria tweeted, “I was received and hosted for dinner by my counterparts Majid Al Qassabi, Minister for Commerce and Media and Khaled Al Falih, Minister for Investments, and other high-ranking leaders in the Public and Private Sectors.”
Further, the Cabinet Secretary will hold bilateral talks with his two counterparts as well as a meeting with the Private Sector movers and the Saudi Public Investments Fund.
During the visit, Saudi Arabia and Kenya signed a Memorandum of Understanding-MoU on Political Consultations aimed at Strengthening trade relations.

The agreement focused on Trade opportunities, targeting to improve the balance of trade currently hugely titled in favor of Saudi Arabia.
The Economic Survey 2020 shows that Kenya’s Imports from Saudi Arabia were valued at Ksh 127.2 billion in 2019, which was 14 times more than the value of Kenya’s Exports which totaled Ksh 8.9 billion.

Other products Kenya will export under the agreement include the peel of citrus fruit, edible fruits, mate and spices, live trees, plants, bulbs, roots, nuts, and melon.
