Ukraine has donated 25,000 Metric Tonnes of Wheat to Kenya that will be distributed to counties which have been hit by the ongoing drought.
The donation was done in Nairobi on Tuesday, November 22 with a showcase between the Ukrainian Ambassador to Kenya Andriy Pravednyk, and Kenya’s deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
In a statement, Gachagua said that Ukraine continues to play a significant role in Global Food Security amidst the ongoing Russian-Ukraine war.
“Kenya will hand in hand collaborate with Ukraine as far as the economy is concerned. Further, our strong relationships will always grow’’, deputy President Rigathi Gachagua said in Nairobi while receiving the donation.
On the other hand, Kenya’s President William Ruto had earlier appealed to the Development Partners to give a helping hand to Kenya in order to overcome the effects of drought and boost food security.
