Kisii: Police in Kisii have started an investigation where a 74-year-old woman was murdered by her son over suspected land issues on Friday, November 11.
A police report which was seen by sources shows that the woman by the name Jane Kemunto was murdered in Bomeroka village in Kisii County.
In a statement, neighbors said that the two (2) have had misunderstandings over a piece of land for a long time.
Innocent Oguongo Monyenyea a 34-year-old was put on hold by the village residents before he was taken to Nyatieko police station in Kisii county.
“At the scene, the woman’s body was found in a pool of blood, with her right hand chopped. On the other hand, she had several deep cuts on the head,” the police report reads.

Unfortunately, Jane Kemunto succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital.
Meanwhile, the Police Officers who visited the place recovered weapons that they believe were used to strategically showcase the crime including a hammer and grass slasher.
