Cristiano Ronaldo has become the first person to have 500 million Instagram followers.
The Portugal and Manchester United forward is one of the highest-paid footballers in the world, and Instagram helps him make a fortune through sponsored posts and collaborations with well-known companies.

The 37-year-old has his family’s photo as his profile picture on the website, and other well-known footballers like Neymar are his followers, but he only follows 523 Instagram users and has made over 3000 posts.
His posts typically centre around football, and most recently, he published a photo of him and Lionel Messi playing chess on Instagram, which has amassed over 35 million likes.
Ronaldo claimed that the Portugal team would not be harmed by his argument with Manchester United during the World Cup in Qatar. The superstar, who has been relegated to a supporting role at United this season, attacked his club and United coach Erik ten Hag last week in a televised interview.

“I have no doubt that this recent episode, that interview, and other episodes with other players that happen sometimes, can sometimes shake the player but won’t shake the team,” Ronaldo said at a press conference at the Portugal camp.
