The Employment and labour relations court has stopped the ongoing vetting of 51 the principal secretaries pending the hearing and determination of a case filed challenging the nominees by the Law Society of Kenya.
Justice Musyoki Wa Makau a judge of the employment and labour relations court gave the order, pending the hearing and determination of a petition before the court.
“A conservatory order is hereby issued restraining and barring the National Assembly from receiving or if already received, barring the processing, vetting or in any way proceeding or processing the nomination for appointment of the 51 nominees as PSs,” the order reads.
The Law Society of Kenya moved the court saying the nomination of PS did not meet the criteria and the aspirations of all Kenyans and was not inclusive.

LSK sued the Attorney General, the National Assembly, and the Public Service Commission which conducted the nominations of the 51 PS nominees.
“The people of Kenya will be adversely affected in their capacity and collectively as an organization working with an executive that does not reflect the face of Kenya” they argued
The vetting process of the principal secretaries started on Monday and so far the member of the parliament committee on health and defense have met their nominees for interview.
The national assembly continued with the scheduled interviews as it says it has not yet been served by the court.
