AFC Leopards Call For New Tusker Fixture Venue Following Kasarani Crusade

AFC Leopards

AFC Leopards face Tusker FC in their FKF-PL fixture on Sunday as the league continues amid the lifting of Kenya’s international football ban.

Following a massive crusade by Pastor Ezekiel last weekend, AFC Leopards have expressed concern over the state of the pitch. The crusade drew thousands of Kenyans to the Kasarani national stadium, which has been scheduled to host the FKF-PL fixture between AFC Leopards and league-leaders, Tusker FC.

AFC Leopards Team Manager Albert Wesonga has noted that the pitch is not in good condition for a competitive football match,

“According to the FKF schedule, we have been lined up to play Tusker at Kasarani but the pitch was left in really a bad state after last weekend’s religious rally held at the stadium. I therefore humbly request Tusker to try to look for an alternative venue but if they won’t secure another stadium in time then we will go ahead and use Kasarani against our wish.”

According to a Tweet by the club, the fixture seems set to be held at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.

Tusker FC are league leaders with 2 wins from 2 fixtures, while AFC Leopards have won one from one fixture played, after their match with Vihiga Bullets was postponed. AFC defeated Ulinzi Stars 2-0 in their opening fixture at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.
