Senior Pakistan Journalist Shot Dead in Kajiado

Senior Pakistan journalist, Arshad Sharif, was shot dead on Sunday, October 23 night along the Nairobi-Magadi highway in what police officers termed as mistaken identity.

Arshad was shot in the head and killed by police following an allegation that the journalist and his driver violated a roadblock that had been set up to check on vehicles using the route.
They were on their way to Nairobi from Magadi when they were flagged down at a roadblock being overseen by a group of police officers.

According to sources, the late Pakstanian journalist was working at Ary News in Pakistan.

Javeria Siddique, the wife of the late journalist eulogized Arshad stating that she lost a close friend and favorite journalist whom he has never seen before.

“I lost my friend, husband, and my favorite journalist Arshad Sharif today, and as per police, he was shot in Kenya.”

“Respect our privacy and in the name of breaking pls don’t share our family pics, personal details, and his last pictures from the hospital. Remember us in your prayers,” added Siddique,” she stated.

Sharif came back to Kenya from London after terminating his contract with his former employer following an interview that aired on the channel.

Sources reveal from Dawn.com a media company that the late Sharif was facing multiple sedition cases about his programming.

Later, Ary News parted ways with the journalist over unexplained differences.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan press had earlier issued a statement that the Late Sharif was involved in an accident.
