Museveni: I promoted Muhoozi for his significant contribution to military

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has defended his son, Lt. General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, by promoting him to army general In the midst of controversy over his threats to attack neighboring Kenya on Twitter.

Museveni however sought an apology on behalf of his son, Kainerugaba for his obnoxious statement that breaches the rule of law as a public service servant.

“I promoted him because this mistake is one aspect where he has acted negatively as a Public officer. There are, however, many other positive contributions the General has made and can still make. This is a time-tested formula –discourage the negative and encourage the positive.” Museveni stated.

“Very sorry, ndugu zetu Wakenya. Also sorry to the Ugandans who could have been annoyed by one of their officials meddling in the affairs of brother Kenya. I know for a fact that General Muhoozi is a passionate Pan-Africanist.”

Prior to his promotion as full army General, Kainerugaba served as army commander of the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF).

In addition to that, President Museveni assigned Kenerugaba as senior presidential adviser for special operations.

The designations he was given, however, were all devoid of fundamental information.

General Muhoozi who has been the talk of the town regarding his ill remarks to Kenyans on Twitter, went on all fours to apologize to the numerous Kenyans who had criticized him on Twitter.

“I would never beat up the Kenyan army because my father told me never to attempt it! So our people in Kenya should relax,” Muhoozi tweeted.

Museveni’s special invite to President Ruto in Uganda

Amid the indignation from general Muhoozi to KOT, Museveni sought it better to invite President William Ruto to the Uganda Independence day event as the Country marked its 60 years since Independence.

Museveni invited Ruto as one of the leaders who will grace Uganda’s Independence Day celebrations on Sunday, October 9, in what is seen as a move by Kampala to de-escalate the tension between the two neighboring countries.

Being an affectionate friend to William Ruto, the longest-serving President Museveni thought it better to create a mutual relationship between the two countries as a way of protecting the Countries’ supremacy.
