The national assembly has unanimously agreed on the appointment of the Cabinet Secretaries nominees as chosen by President William Ruto.
Previously, the House had rejected the report of the committee on the appointment of Peninah Malonza as the Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet secretary.
After the nominee was rejected, the speaker, Moses Wetangula called on Kitui Mp, Irene Kasalu to bring up a motion to approve Malonza’s nomination.
“You have negatived the rejection of Peninah Malonza; this means she is in purgatory. She is neither in heaven nor hell. The next move is that I have received a notice of motion from Irene Kasalu, I now give her the opportunity to move the motion and once we have a seconder, you allow the chair to put the question,” Wetang’ula said.
In the second round of voting, Malonza’s nomination was approved.
